- Wa Harid al-Mumininannounced on August 4 that its militants had foiled a special operation by Russian forces in Khirbat al-Naqus;
- Kurdish rebels announced on August 4 that their forces had killed 17 Turkish-backed militants in a series of operations near Marea, A’zaz and al-Bab;
- Turkey will enter northeastern Syria and has already shared its plans with Russia and the U.S, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on August 4;
- Militants shelled Slanfah with rocket launchers;
