This map provides a general look at the military situation in Syria on August 8, 2017. The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies are advancing against ISIS along the Euphrates River and in the area of Sukhna. The US-backed Syrian Democratic Fores (SDF) are storming the ISIS-held city of Raqqah.

This month DE City will be liberated. I am sure. The last ISIS fighters west of Euphrate will die in a pocket east of Hama. I am sure. Al Bukamal will be reached. I am sure. The pocket in eastern Ghouta will be minimized. I am sure. The only question for August will be: What are the rats in Idlib government are planning and what will they do?
They are still trying to consolidate is HTS but are finding obstacles with these new alliances , things keep changing there is no sign of any stability with the new factions joining. Civilians are already presenting issues with ISIS and have killed a leader in Hatlah, and other parts are showing resistance while ISIS is heavily recruiting for an assault on Deir ezzoir after desertions and heavy losses at Soukhna . They are sending them to the front right away no training and those that ran from the defeat at Soukhna are amassing there. Qayr’abat hopefully will fall soon since this would force ISIS out of central Syria.
Losing Aqayrabat after Soukhna will take ISIL out of Central Syria. ISIL then has only one chance: to go for the eastern parts of Deir Ezzur – but when SAA achieves to pocket them this last way will let them die one after the other. Now the SAA and allies are preparing all means for the final battle in a large-scale operation in Eastern Hama/Homs. I hope they will close the way to Soukhna too from southern Raqqa.
The western moles in Isis are fortifying from maydan to abukamal. The whole point is to stop the SAA from crossing the Euphrates long enough for the SDF to take all the land north of the Euphrates.
The SAA is going to claim a victory when they reach deir ezzor. But most of the oil is north and east of there and still be lost to sdf.
The Syrian oil stolen to keep Isis going will be stolen to keep SDF going.
