A brief overview of the recent developments in Syria:
- On December 15, Russia reported that Idlib militants violated the ceasefire regime in Greater Idlib 35 times: 16 – in Idlib province, 4 – in Aleppo province, 15 – in Latakia province, 4 – in Hama province;
- On December 14, unknown gunmen attacked a HQ of the Kurdish National Council in Darbasiyah town. No casualties were reported;
- On December 14, the Syrian Army and Russian forces launched a security operation to deter ISIS cells in the central desert;
- On December 14, the Syrian Army seized a large quantity of medium, heavy weapons and ammunitions in southern Syria;
- On December 14, US forces carried out a patrol in the vicinity of the town of al-Shaddadi in the southern countryside of Hasakah;
- On December 15, clashes between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Turkish-backed forces were reported north of Ain Issa. Several Turkish-backed fighters were reportedly killed;
- On December 14, SAA artillery shelled positions of Turkish-backed forces in Safuhin and Faitra;
- On December 14, the Free Syrian Police imposed a curfew in the Jinderes area in an attempt to contain the infighting among Turkish proxies there.
