the kurdish forces have been driven out of manbij. the free syrian army, supported by turkey, has taken control of the city from the kurdish separatist organization ypg. the kurdish separatists have thus lost their stronghold west of the euphrates: manbij had been under ypg control since 2016. according to reports, the arab population of the city assisted the free syrian army against the kurds and freed detainees from prisons.
the arab council in deir ezzor is also anti kurdish, expect the kurds to be kicked out of there also. raqqa too is arab
but theres is oil so kurds need to stay so the usa “has” to stay there as well.
i’ve heard the syrian soldiers could have beaten back the rebels but their generals gave them crazy orders to retreat and finally surrender in baghdad. they weren’t defeated in battles just surrendered.
