like 90% of that is desert, rest is ultra-fertile land around Euphrates. What SAA got is control over large parts of population centers:
Aleppo- All of it except kurdish Sheikh Maksud parts of Al-Layramoun, whole of Rashidin 4 and right now fighting for Rashidin 5
Damascus- All except all the southern part of damascus (held mainly by ISIS), Qaboun and Barzeh (held by Tahrir al-Sham) and shitton of eastern suburbs
Daraa – around 55% of the city ( rest by Tahrir Al-Sham and …. interestingly named Southern Front terror group, no relation with this site whatsoever)
Deir Ez- Zor – around 50% of the city (rest by ISIS)
Hama- All of it
Latakia – All of it
Tartus – All of it
Homs – All of it except Waer district (yup Tahrir dudes again)
Jableh – All of it
Salamiyah – All of it
As-Suweidah – All of it
Qamishli – some third of it, rest by kurds
Hasakah – small part of it, rest illegally occupied by some criminals claiming to be aligned with YPG
Everything south of the Euphrates river, except the Oasis of palmyra, is the Syrian desert. Nobody controls the desert. It’s always drawn as under the control of isis to exaggerate their power. But armies from any side regularly pass thru the desert, including shiite militia from Iraq who fought in aleppo.
Jesus, like still half the country under IS control!

SDF :
ALEPPO : 1/2 of North Aleppo (Kobane and Manbij and Afrin and part of Azaz corridor and Sjeikh Maqsud and three other quarters
Raqqah : All except for Raqqah city and southern desert.
Deir ez Zor : Northern part, almost at the Euphrates.
Hasakah : Completely except for small part of Hasakah city, small part of Qamishli and 25 surrounding villages south of the city.
All in all, SDF controls 21% of the country, some 20% of the population, a lot of the food growing areas, a lot of the oil and electricity production.
