A brief overview of the recent developments in Syria:
- At least 5 Turkish soldiers were killed and 7 others were injured in a Syrian Army strike on Turkish forces near Saraqib. A ‘civil’ service member was also killed;
- Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey employed F-16 jets and T-155 Fırtına self-propelled howitzers to strike Syrian Army positions. According to Erdogan, between 30 and 35 Syrian troops were killed;
- The Russian military said that Turkish forces did not inform the Russian military of their movements before the incident;
- Government forces liberated San, Jobas, Zakar, Dadikh and Kafr Batikh near Saraqib;
- Militants captured a T-90 battle tank in recent clashes in Zitan in southwestern Aleppo.
SAA should also target Turkey, if Turkey attack SAA. SAA should show Turkey that they don’t afraid of Turkey. SAA should not always follow Russia orders as Putin try pleasing Erdogan and is worry about own and Russia reputation at the expense of SYria. Russia is poor protector, that’s why everyone bombing SYria at will, because Putin has own agenda.
Russia is the only reason why Turkey and Syria are not directly at war. The moment Russia goes out of the way, in an All-Out-War SAA will have not a chance against Turkey. If things evolve in such way like lately, maybe a war between Turkey and Syrian Government is inevitable. Russia will have then to decide if Trade relations and Bosphorus Passage is more important to them then helping SAA against Turkey. In war time Turkey has the right to close Bosphorus, if Russia sends Arms to Syrian Government.
And Iraqi government stooges block Russian airplanes flying over Iraq which blocks any kind of Russian help to their own soldiers in the case of difficult situation.. Which puts Russia – forces a hand to Russia in position to declare war to Turkey to save their own contingent there in the case of all out war by Turkey against SAA. Assad is making plenty of trouble to Russia instead of respecting limitations and Russian strategy. Assad always acts like he is only to decide and only his interest matter. So he might end up alone against Turkey. With no Russia or Iran to help.

Turks are having 90 million population. While half of Syria male population are refugees. There is not even smallest chance for Syria to win such war.

Turkey sure has some nerve. What reason does Turkey have to interfere in Syria? How is invading Syria securing Turkey’s border? Turkey has the nerve to threaten war on Syria for defending themselves against a hostile military invasion of the Turkish army? How does that even make sense? Assad has every right to retake his Country. Erdogan has to come to terms that he will have to deal with Assad in an official capacity once Assad regains his title as the Ruler of Syria.
It convenes Assad to Reconcile with Syrian-Kurdish communities and Syrian-Kurdish forces. I’m sure Erdogan doesn’t want a fight with the Regime and SDF would he? Turkey’s focus should be protecting their border, any other action taken by Turkey warrants a truce between Syrian and Kurdish forces in order to attack Turkish invaders..

Assad controls most of Syria. Aside from Idlib and the Kurdish held areas Assad has control of the entire country. I’m sure the Kurds have come to grips with the fact that Assad will rule.
A Turkish Insurgency at this point worsens the situation. Turkey interference at this point is only a ploy to maintain the status Quo of indefinite war. Once Idlib is under Assad’s control what is Turkey’s excuse to fight in Syria? To fight Kurdish terrorists? How then does that benefit Syrian Kurds? Unless the US wants to colonize Syria the US has NO reason to stay in Syria. Kurds aren’t too welcoming of US “assistance” after the US pulled troops out of Syria, so the US “backing” of Kurdish forces are also empty words.
Russia’s wisest move would be highlighting to Kurdish leaders how much territory Assad has gained, and that if Turkey is allowed to interfere Syrian Kurds would be in danger. US leaves, Turkey leaves, Rebels are crushed and the war can be over… Anybody who doesn’t want the war to finish should make clear exactly what it is they want..
