If Erdogan created this safe zone with Trump in a telephone conversation something may have been lost in translation. Erdogan’s boast of creating a 32 km safe zone was probably just a suggestion that Erdogan made and Trump agreed to, and that was enough for Erdogan to spin it into a storyline that suited his narrative, but he said that sort of thing last time too, and what did Trump do, threaten to destroy Erdogan’s economy. Let’s see what Trump says next, and then see if even one Turkish toe touches the Syrian/Turkish border anywhere else than they have already. The Kurds would rebel and kill every last US soldier they could find, as well as the Turks crossing the border, LOL, I’ll bet Trump kicks the Turks out of Manbij before he lets them create, man and operate any sort of safezone. Turks in safe zone = unhappy Kurds, Russians, Syrians, Iraqis, Iranians, Arab league full stop. Turks out of safe zone = unhappy Erdogan, not Turks, just Erdogan, but happy Kurds, Russians, Syrians, Iraqis, Iranians, and Arab league.

Assad should ask for Arab League support against Turk OTOMAN ambitions in Syria and that is something quite easy to achieve. Considering that Arabs do not like at all Turk growing influence over the Arab population..

Well he can tell them to pack up the joint US/Turkish patrols of the areas around Manbij, that they’ve been having for a few months now, that’s how, would that be hard to do for some reason. Oh did you forget they have joint US Turkish patrols around the Manbij area, patrols that were also agreed upon by the local joint Arab/Kurdish/Turkmen administration as well, that Erdogan insisted on to help keep the local Turkman population safe from the nasty Kurds who’ve taken over the mostly Arab/Turkman town.

You said you read the Syrian news and trust them, what did they say about the deals Putin did with Erdogan.

HTS “has declared the groups support to a possible Turkish military operation in northeastern Syria”. Now my fears are being realized, Turkey controls north of Aleppo, and HTS west of Aleppo, and the ‘rebels’ have declared Turkish support, and Khalidiya within Aleppo is being shelled. I expect a joint operation against Aleppo is in the works, not northeastern Syria.

And Turks are defenseless from air attacks. Wanting something and having it is not the same. Erdogan wants Otoman Empire back but for the moment that is only desire.
