A brief overview of the recent developments in Syria:

• The Syrian Army is advancing to encircle Maarat al-Numan;
• Militants claimed that they destroyed a Syrian Army 23mm gun position near near Binyamin with an ATGM;
• Intense airstrikes were reported west, northwest and southwest of Maarat al-Numa;
• US forces increased their activity in western al-Hasakah;
• Pro-Israeli sources claim that Iranian-backed forces reinforced their positions in al-Buakamal and al-Mayadeen.
