This map provides a general look at the current military situation in Syria:
- The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have launched a new attempt to capture and secure the town of al-Shafah in the remaining ISIS-held pocket in the Euphrates Valley;
- Hayat Tahrir al-Sham has continued its expansion within the Idlib de-escaltion zone capturing new areas;
- A new round of ceasefire violations has been reported in northern Hama.
I wish the best of luck to the official Syrian army. Assad is a good man. I firmly believe that.
Yeah he is a good man, and he will win this war, as he has most support from his people thankfully.
He also has the support of a lot of people outside the country of Syria. Either way, I would argue that he has already won.
Funny how Al-Nusra, with less resources then SDF and no US air support, can eliminate its rival Al Zenki in less then a couple of days, while it takes the SDF what? Now almost a year just to eliminate this tiny ISIS pocket?
America’s “War on ISIS”
“We don’t think the Turks ought to undertake military action that’s not fully coordinated with and agreed to by the United States at a minimum,” Bolton said, “so they don’t endanger our troops, but also so that they meet the president’s requirement that the Syrian opposition forces that have fought with us are not endangered.” John Bolton
“Erdogan wants the U.S. to leave Syria and to take with it the arms it handed to the YPG to fight ISIS”
