A brief overview of the recent developments in Syria:
- Turkey shot down a Syrian L-39 warplane over Idlib. It reportedly crashed near Maarat al-Numan;
- Turkey claims 327 Syrian soldiers have been ‘neutralized’ during the past 24 hours of Operation Peace Spring;
- A Turkish soldier was killed in Greater Idlib on March 2, the Turkish military reported;
- The Syrian Army shot down a Bayraktar TB2 combat drone near Saraqib;
- The Russian Military police reportedly entered Saraqib;
- Units of the Syrian Army recaptured Amqiyah and Fulayfil from Turkish-led forces;
- The Syrian Army retook Jawbas, Tarnaba, Dadikh and Kafr Battikh from Turkish-led forces;
- A fighting reportedly erupted between the Syrian Army and Turkish proxies near al-Bab.
Hmm SAA still far away from M4 highway. SAA should push along M4 from Latakia too. What is going on, like SAA has no troops there, from south only, west Latakia nothing??!!

from lattakia front is extremly difficult because of geography and complicated mountains, the saa failed multiple times to advance from that fornt …the only way is from jabl zawiya and jabl shahshabo then having high ground to get fire control over alghab plain and then closing in to the m4 ….the sad part is that the only troops that can liberate areas in saa are the 25th brigade divison “tiger forces” and hezbollah elite commandos …they seem to be occupied now by clearing saraqib and capturing neiyrab, afes, and maybe saramin
Agreed – it is so obvious that SAA needs to clear M4 from Jisr ash-Shughour eastwards as the imperative strategic objective. Idlib city is of no real importance, just a cul-de-sac for enemy to retreat to, but the M4-M5 network is vital.

Drones are disposable, warplanes aren’t, and on the warplane front Turkey is kicking some ass!
Syria still has complete air superiority. We have seen Iran drones to be able to by pass even the Patriot air defence system. So SAA has many options to destroy turks.

Turkish F-16 make BVR attacks with Turkish E7-Awacs. The E-7 Radar lead the missiles on target via Link-16 Datalink even if F-16 Radars are not able to see the target.

Please do attack “with 72 Jets”! S-400 system is capable of targeting up to 36 airplanes (at one time) at a range of 150 kilometers. It will be a slaughter!!! Turkey will lose Air-Force in one day !
Yeah, the S-400 will not survive this later also. Be sure about that. After S-400 shoots missiles, Turkish missiles will take it out. It takes time to refile it… Turkey has enough equipment like SOM cruise Missiles or Bora with CEP of 10m to take them out.
There is also S-300V4 in Tartus you simpleton ! And LAYERED air defenses with BUK M3 and Tor and Pantsir’s around S-400! Not to mention SU-30 and SU-35 !
Not even fly can get through to do any harm to S-400 tile they reload !

Bollocks.(Maybe for export only) First SU-27 are not produced any longer (only upgraded to SU-27SM3 standard). Russia only produces SU-30 and newer models.
Russian air force pays always much smaller price comparing to price for the export.
Russia has bought their SU-30 for lousy 33 millions each!! Because only India has bought almost 300 of SU-30MKI so SU-30 are dirty cheap now.

Anka-S drones used for targeting cost $290M for 10 aircraft or about $30m each while the Bayraktar-TB costs around $5m/ea.
The SU-24’s that were lost cost $24m in 1997 dollars when purchased back in the 1980’s while a replacement Aero L-39 Albatros cost $250K on the used market …. neither aircraft are made any more but there are plenty of used aircraft in Russia that can be had for cheap as they have depreciated to scrap years ago.
With aircraft of this age it’s the pilots who are valuable and all pilots survived.
BTW Turkey has lost a good deal of these very expensive aircraft in Syria and Libya over the last few weeks
