Interesting Facts about current Syrian S-300PM2 Situation: -SAA was NOT given long range 48N6 or 48N6E2 Missiles with their delivery -SAA S-300 were ONLY equipped with short-medium range 9M16E (40km) and 5V55R (65km) missiles -SAA were ONLY given standard early radars (1978 models) intended for basic S-300P -SAA were NOT given NEBO/gravestone/chessboard anti-stealth radars -SAA still do NOT have 100% control of S-300’s -given current Syrian S-300 radars and missile configurations, they are more susceptible to electronic warfare jamming, harder to detect stealth, and have no long range capability since their S-300 have NO Long range missiles -Conclusion: In order for S-300PM2 to work their finest and fullest against 5th gen fighter aircraft, THEY NEED to be synced with THEIR INTENDED advanced radars such as 64N6E2 big bird + NEBO anti-stealth radars… simply using old radars wont be effective. Also they MUST be equipped with the long range 48N6E2 missile… otherwise WHAT THE FUCK IS THE POINT OF HAVING THE S-300 if you can’t engage at long ranges?

Jacob Wohl's Nose

actually I’m pretty sure Syria have all necessary upgraded radars and missile components for S-300PM2 It’s just that they don’t have 100% control like you say, so they cant use it properly and to best result

Good observations, but do you have evidences of what you are pointing out ? because these make Syria S-300 total useless and very vulnerable (very easy to be destroyed by Israel).

gustavo

Is SAA still sleeping ? What are those black pocket doing in Syria map ? Don’t you think that it is time to get rid of those black pocket ? or are you wainting for Russia green light ?. Russia must know that it is good idea to get rid of these black pocket.., what is it stopping the action ?
