A brief overview of the recent developments in Syria:
- On November 15, US forces carried out a military patrol in the vicinity of the Rumailan oil fields;
- On November 15, an IED attack damaged an Syrian Arab Army (SAA) vehicle near the town of al-Tabni;
- On November 15, artillery of Turkish-backed forces shelled positions of SDF in Ain Issa area;
- On November 15, artillery of Turkish-backed forces shelled positions of the SDF north of the Minnagh airbase;
- On November 15, clashes between the SDF and Turkish-backed forces eruprted in the Ain Daqna area east of the Minnagh airbase;
- On November 15, an explosion erupted in Jarabulus town;
- On November 16, the Syrian government announced the death of its foreign minister, Walid al-Muallem (79yo).
Solemn condolences to the family of Walid al-Muallem, a true Syrian hero who fought the biggest battles of all, the international onslaught was even harder to withstand than the military battles were, but he did Syria proud and held his own even into his twilight years, a true Syrian hero, his replacement will have big shoes to fill.
Russian forces arrested one of the Iranian NDF commanders in deir ez Zor and charged him with drug smuggling, that won’t make the Iranians very happy will it, and no the commander wasn’t on the Syrian or Russian payrolls, he was definitely on the Iranian payroll. smirk
