This map provides a general look at the military situation in Syria on October 12, 2017:
- The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies are stroming the ISIS-held city of al-Mayadin in the Euphrates Valley;
- The SAA is preparing to storm the city of al-Qaryatayn in the province of Homs. The city has been seized by ISIS cells;
- The SAA has repelled all ISIS attacks along the Palmyra-Deir Ezzor highway and is now in full control of this important supply line;
- The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have seized Muwayli and Kabbar villages at the ash-Shaddaday-al-Busayran road and now are dveloping momentum in the area;
- The SDF is also fighting ISIS inside Raqqah city amid the circulating repoprts that the sides could reach an agreement allowing ISIS members to withdraw from Raqqah;
- In northern Hama, ISIS and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham are still clashing for the villages north of as-Saan.

The Russians who are effectively running things are very thorough and will be developing a bigger strategy.Troops cant fight every day non stop and will be recharging whilst the weapons that are needed are brought in.

“SDF” is afraid of those ISIS fighters who are not willing to join their ranks. Now the cowards are sitting on the river hoping ISIS will withdraw to fight SAA as elsewhere too. ISIS took the Omar field from “SDF” girlies today. That hits the girlies moral too.

They are now actually fighting those units of ISIS that didn’t agree backed and reinforced by non Arab ISIS fighters , who can’t trust Arabs.

Now is the time for Russia to confront the US by way of telling them to get their troops out of the area before a huge launch of missiles of all types especially thermobaric. This should be done with the offer of immediate evacuation courtesy of Russia of all US personnell with one hours notice.

As Isis is running out of soldiers, they will need more to come via Jordan, volunteers from Nejd probably, a northern territory of Saudi Arabia and hotbed of salafist ideology.
The volunteers have many ready-to-use VBIEDS, but are unexperienced and struggle hold territory. Their only purpose is to delay SAA advance while SDF focuses on grabbing oil wells.
The veteran Isis forces are depleted. It seems most of the veterans are stalling as they look for a place to flee to rather than fight and die, like the ones in Homs pocket who fled to idlib. Clearly, those ordering people to go on suicide missions don’t believe in an afterlife themselves.
ISDF will accept any defectors, but Isis probably wants to go to idlib, and defect to the Turkish zone.
