This loss is not significant, it is a mere psychological success for Ukrops or NATO. Most iportantly, the crew is ok.
It can be worked around by the RU airforce doing a lot of extra work.
The loss of the radar and mobile S 300 (together with the long range land strike ability) is significant but there are many ways to fill in. It is just much less efficient (will expend a lot more fuel and man hours) than having such a nice base ship. One is to set up an S-300 equivalent or better mobile system on the western tip of the barrier island near Krasnoznamenka.
A quickly built forward air base (heli’s first, STOL fixed wing later)and larger radar in this general area might also be an option if it can be built quickly.
High altitude 24 hr air patrols by Su 57 and/or advanced Mig 31 would provide better protection to the fleet than Moskva ever could. It’s man hour and fuel intensive, but over short term that shouldn’t be a concern.

Certainly a loss, mainly connected with the Radar facility it offered, however just like the ships sank in many wars, including Argentine sinking of British Warships, they are not definitive in deciding the end outcome of a conflict as was the case with the Falklands war where Britain went on to win it. Similarly Britain lost the Hood and prevailed in the second world war. In War there are losses, that is the reality of War. The important thing is to analyse losses and make sure those learnings are taken onboard in the campaign. As you will have heard, Odesa got a good thumping today and that is learnings feeding into the campaign, similarly the Jupiter production line no longer exists and that is another learning taken into the campaign. The special operation goes on!

If you compare side by side the current map image to either of the two images from March that I posted above (or below, in reply to “forever map”) you will see there are very much changes. The most significant is that across the Dnieper outlet bay the peninsula has been almost 99% cleared. Perhaps only a little de mining or a remaining band of starving nationalists. Also a smaller cauldron has closed in eastern DPR and some changes west of the Dnieper, and also on the area just on the other side.
The war has always been symmetrical, Russian Forces are a joke.

The peninsula south across of of Nikolayev is finally taken; a ripe location for a forward air base to be built up. The blitz to probe the battlefield deeper into Ukr has pulled back. The smaller cauldron in eastern Donbass has closed.
