ultimately, the russians can end this at almost any time provided they are willing to escalate the war and take the casualties. the ukrainians (by the extreme ukrainian count) are undercounting fatalities by up to 10 times. when the casualty number is too high, ukrainian support for zelenskyy and maximalism will collapse. the americans already seem to be expecting this.
