There are basically two ‘modes’ in every war: offensive and attrition. Russians obviously switched to war of attrition except in the South. I have no doubt they will go on offensive on all fronts again. Now they just softening UAF positions, preparing for offensive and perhaps even still waiting for diplomatic solution.
But why would they switch to attrition mode? Attrition AFAIK only happens because either, you are forced to the defensive stand (are at disadvantage and cannot take the offensive) or because the one doing the offensive is forced to stop its advance. I don’t see any logic to “offensive attrition” unless you’re forced to nothing else by the defending side.
