Nukes are not going to change things or make them better in any way. The opposite is true. Putin is BTW not prepared to strike first, but Biden is. Would nerve gas be better than nuclear weapons, as it wouldn’t leave the area contaminated by radiation, and you could exterminate the residents of an area without damaging anything? Even Hitler would not use gas though, and I’m not suggesting it’s use myself either. But it’s interesting that there are often proposals to use nuclear weapons and not gas, while both are outside the normal conventions of warfare. The practical advantage of nuclear weapons is a large explosive force in a small package, yet conventional explosives can have the same effect if delivered in large quantities – a MOAB or FOAB is equivalent to a tactical nuke, and the USA have already used a MOAB in Afghanistan, apparently it didn’t result in their long term victory! But say there is a trench in a field, bombing the entire field is usually not going to be more helpful than the trench alone I would have thought, apart from possibly setting off any surrounding minefields? Accuracy in hitting a target is often key.
But, but how can they use nerve gasses when “everybody” denies having arsenals of chemical gasses?

Rommel was the king of the retreat did it for years …. while yes he lost he is remembered for his combat skill. Russian forces are intact they are in front of the UAF, yes they have moved… but they are still there in Ukraine. Until Ukraine destroys them thats where it will be. They will eventually meet Russian regrouped forces and Ukraine’s advance forces….then we will see who wins the fight!

Seems like the Russian high command has taken my advice. They need to make western Ukraine suffer and freeze in the dark. William Tecumseh Sherman won the civil war by cutting rail lines (see Sherman neck ties) so as to wreck the souths supply lines, and brought the war to the civilians by torching their homes (especially in South Carolina). I think Russia goofed in the beginning by not attempting to take Kiev right off the bat. That feint should have been the real thing. Also, Putin goofed when he ignored Sun Tzu’s teaching that you have to separate an enemy for it’s allies. Either way, western Ukraine should sit in the dark, and Russia should do all it can to destroy all western infrastructure, including roads, rail, tunnels water and sewage treatment, and bridges. All must be destroyed.
