Contrary to the Paid Posters here is the latest update -both the Mercenaries & the Azovs were targetted on Saturday “fighting near the village of Zaytsevo the 24th “Aidar battalion of the 53rd mechanised brigade LOST more than half its personnel –the remnants withdrew” .

It’s always been difficult to understand Russian strategy in Ukraine, but it seems the plan is to stick to the territorial goals in a very narrow format – Dombas liberated. To that end Russia set up a two way grinder in Kherson (Defensive) and Dombas (offensive). The plan was probably to achieve the goal and then hold on continually grinding down Ukraine and hoping via that to get acceptance of the new reality. Russia would grind down Ukraine economically, through infrastructure disturbance and losses in the grinding machine. The game is now on regarding getting to that goal – can Russia achieve it, or can Ukraine push into Dombas? The one thing is certain as with NATO, actions in Serbia, the west accept the principle of bombing widely to persuade soldiers to leave an area under pressure!
Derpster, the failed Ukrainian CIA project didn’t “push” into anywhere in which there was Russian opposition. Moving into territory occupied by security troops in Kharkov that evacuate hardly constitutes a push.
In War, you can’t live in denial. The truth is that the Ukrainian Nazi piss, did push into a lightly defended area, it is also true that they are throwing their people into huge cannon fodder losses and carrying out terrorist attacks for PR gains. But that is how it is, and if they just keep on with these tactics, they may be able to affect the front lines in Dombas – denying a mission accomplished position by Russia. Russia therefore has to be mindful of this and use whatever means to ‘teach’ Ukraine that the behavior is unacceptable – they did the same when attacking Kiev when Z-elensky dared send missiles into Russia. Of course, Russia is playing this at two levels – Ukrainian and multipolar world, where it wants to minimise the drag of Ukraine on itself in that wider multipolar development. However, Russia cannot afford to lose focus totally on Ukraine. It needs accomplish its goals in Dombas and force Ukraine Nazis to peace.
