What I really want to know is: Has the UAE really pulled out entirely like they said they would, or did they just into stealth mode in Yemen? Someone is still paying salaries and shipping arms to the southern tribes and it damn sure isn’t the Saudis. ISIS and AQAP have an usually persistent presence despite the Saudis and UAE swearing they’re not financing them.

Both the Saudis and UAE are cash broke, and their garbage sovereign debt is only held up by their manufactured peg to the USD. That won’t last forever. They keep having to raise salaries for mercs to go to Yemen, but there have been fewer and fewer takers. Mercs know the Saudis and UAE are deadbeats and don’t pay salaries. About all the Saudis and UAE have for Yemen is an endless supply of western equipment financed entirely on credit. US taxpayers will end up with the bill – we will never get a dime of that credit paid back by the bankrupt Saudi and UAE deadbeats.
