Not sure about the accuracy of this specific set of claims today, but Houthis policy around Marib has always been to get the local tribes to flip to Ansar Allah instead of fighting them and destroying their villages. The two military bases on the northern edge of Marib have always been one of the important goals. Once they (and the bases NE of Marib) fall, the Hadi loyalists and al Islah will flee from Marib like rats from a sinking ship.
