The map shows a military situation in Yemen on January 19, 2017. The area of the city of Taiz remains the main hot point in the country.
Saudi-backed forces of the Hadi regime are making attempts to advance against the Houthi-Saleh alliance from the southern countryside of Taiz. However, a low morale and the Saudi military’s inability to force their ‘local allies’ to participate in a major-scale face-to-face battle against Houthi-Saleh fighters prevent the Saudi-led coalitino from making gains in the area.

I’d love to know where the U.S. destroyers were when they fired on by rockets or missiles. I notice that the straits that enter the Red Sea are evenly divided between the Purple (Houthis) and Green (Saudi thugs). I don’t believe the Houthis fired on the U.S. ships, it happened just after the funeral bombing when the Saudis got all of that bad press and it pushed that story out of the headlines, cui bono.

i do not know, why will not they divide the country? former there were 2 Yemenes. they should say goodbye. immediately would be accetpted by uno and most of countries. then the takfiris from riyad had no legitimity tomassacre the houtis.
Yemen used to be divided into two distinct nations based upon Yemen-Aden and Yemen-Sana, and along tribal/racial/religious lines as well… But that was blurred when the two parts became “united” into one “nation” back in the 1980’s…. There has been civil strife since as the two groups never got along together..
You are right that the solution is once again to split and allow the Houthis to have their nation back..
The Houthis are a political organization, not a tribe or a people. It is true that most of their members are from the wealthy classes of the Zaydi branch of Islam,which ruled Yemen for roughly 1,000 years. However, in numbers, the Houthi represent less than 5% of the Zaydi in Yemen and about 2% of the overall population of Yemen.

Yes… The primary fault as usual is giving the “Saudi forces” the majority of the nation, giving the illusion that they are in control and have the support of the Yemeni people, which they do NOT…
Also these maps constantly show the US run “al qaeda” fraud having some control of nations, which it does not…
Local Yemeni media reports Hadi’s National Army et al just over 5 km south of Mocha, which would put them in front of Wadi Mawza. Wadi’s are the stereotypical defense line in desert warfare. The Houthi are firing rockets at villages south of Mocha on the coast. The National Army is firing artillery to gain ground further inland and using coalition air along the coast. There are also reports of significant fighting and property changing hands in the Nihm district of the Sanaa governorate, Dhamar governorate, Hajja governorate and the Jawf-Saada governorates. Hard to find some of the exact locations. District maps of each governorate used to be on the National Information Center web site but the Houthi took them down after they took over the center.
