A Shaanxi Y-8GX-3 military transport aircraft crashed in the southwestern province of Guizhou during a training exercise on January 29, the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) reported. The incident took place in Zhengchang township.
“A plane from the air force crashed during a domestic flying exercise in Guizhou. [The authorities] are putting full effort into the rescue operation,” the PLAAF said in an online statement.
However, no details about possible casualties are available.

The Y-8GX-3 is an airborne command post and ECM version of the Y-8.
