On September 11, four ballistic missiles and three suicide drones struck the Saudi-held Mokha Port on the western Yemeni coast.
The missiles and drones struck the port’s yard as well as a fuel storage facility. Footage released by local sources in Mokha shows dark smoke rising from the port.
According to the al-Arabiya, the attack was carried out by the Houthis (Ansar Allah). The attack started minutes after the arrival of a delegation from the Saudi-backed Yemeni government to inaugurate the port, which was reopened last July.
The large-scale attack appears to have inflicted heavy material damage on the port. Nevertheless, no casualties were reported.

The missiles and drones were reportedly launched by the Houthis from the southwestern province of Taiz. The Yemeni group is yet to claim responsibility.
Recently, the Houthis stepped up their missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia and its proxies in Yemen. On August 29, an attack on al-Anad Air Base in Yemen’s Lahij claimed the lives of more than 40 Saudi-backed Yemeni fighters. On September 4, the Houthis attacked several targets in eastern, western and southern Saudi Arabia.
Today, the Houthis can attack almost any target in Yemen or Saudi Arabia with ease. Despite its heavy fire power and large resources, the Saudi-led coalition has so far failed to neutralize the group’s offensive capabilities.
