On June 11, the Humanity Eye Center for Rights and Development (HECRD) released an infographic summarizing the results of 1,900 days of the Saudi-led operation in Yemen.

Saudi Arabia, backed by other Arab states, intervened in Yemen in March of 2015 to confront the Iranian-allied Houthis, who gained power in the country.

According to the HECRD’s infographic, Saudi operations have killed 16,672 civilians, so far. At least 3,742 of the victims were children. 2,364 others were women. At total of 26,079 civilians were also wounded.

The infographic also provided a detailed summery of the material damage caused by Saudi-led coalition attacks since 2015. A total of 562,687 civilians houses, 10,998 business facilities, 6,632 agricultural fields and 6,638 transports were destroyed.

While the Saudi-led coalition inflicted serious human and material losses on Yemen, it failed to achieve any of its strategic goals. Large parts of the country, including the capital, Sanaa, and the port city of al-Hudaydah, are still controlled by the Houthis.

In the last two years several ceasefires were announced in Yemen. However, fierce clashes have been ongoing in many parts of the country. With no clear political solution in sight, the war-torn country will likely suffer from more losses in the foreseeable future.

So, the holiest country in the world has destroyed 1355 mosques? Gee, that must make Allah very happy. Or not…

These looses by the Yemenis are highly unlikely to be recovered before 2040. Syria has a higher chance to recover than Yemen, Way higher as well if the conflicts stopped at the same time
