At least ten Syrian mercenaries were killed over last few days while fighting with Azerbaijani forces in the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on November 6.
The mercenaries were deployed by Turkey to support the Azerbaijani attack on Armenian forces in the region, which started on September 27.
According to the London-Based monitoring group, the total number of Syrian mercenaries killed by Armenian forces in Nagorno-Karabakh has risen to 250.
The dead bodies of 195 militants were sent back to Syria. 12 bodies arrived in the country in the last few days only. The rest are still missing. Recently, the families of missing mercenaries sent a letter to Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, asking him to reveal the fate of their sons.
Despite the heavy human losses, Turkey is working to send more Syrian militants to Nagorno-Karabakh, according to the SOHR.
“Turkey has been struggling to recruit more fighters to send to Nagorno-Karabakh region, as a large part of the fighters refuse to fight alongside Azerbaijani forces due to the sectarian factor and the heavy human losses among the mercenaries sent to fight in Azerbaijan,” the SOHR said in its report.
The SOHR revealed that the total number of Syrians fighting for Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh is now over 2580. Only 342 went back alive after giving up their salaries.
The Azerbaijani military is reportedly using Syrian militants as cannon fodder on Nagorno-Karabakh’s hottest frontlines. At least two have been captured by Armenian forces, thus far.
Read somewhere that their families get $20k after death. Pretty sweet deal given employment opportunities back in Syria. But quiet sad to see once very beautiful, rich, strong and stable country in ruins now. One day hopefully Syrians will get peacefully reunited in their own country.

None of the belligerents that are there want a solution to the current situation, because it benefits their interests. Russia pretty much got a lot from Syria because of the current situation, therefore as you can see they are not in no rush to stabilizing Syria. The current situation in Syria provides a pool of terrorists to countries like Turkey, the US etc that they can use for other destabilizing projects.

I highly doubt that, it would cost a fortune to pay that. Besides that, many have reported not even getting the agreed upon $1500-$2000 monthly income.

mercenaries are mainly not syrians, coming from more than 100 countries. The fact that they come from the syrian zone of Idlib in the hands of demonic forces doesn’t make them syrians.
