Illustrative Image

The Ukrainian military continues attempts to launch attacks in the Russian rear areas, targeting both civilian and military facilities. On the morning of August 21, at least three Ukrainian UAVs crossed the Russian border.

At about 6.50 a.m. local time, Ukrainian UAV was detected and suppressed by Russian electronic warfare means in the Moscow region. Having lost control, the UAV crashed near the village of Pokrovskoye in the Ruzsky district.

In about an hour, another drone was destroyed by Russian Air Defence Forces in the Istra district of the Moscow region.

The third UAV was detected at about 2.30 p.m. local time in the Belgorod region. It was promptly shot down by Russian Air Defence Forces.

UPDATE: At about 4 p.m. local time, the fourth UAV was shot down over the Belgorod region

The Russian Ministry of Defence reported that none of the attacks resulted in any damage.

The day before, Ukrainian forces also targeted the Russian capital with another drone attack.  The UAV was landed by electronic warfare means in the Stupinsky district in the Moscow region. In addition, three Ukrainian drones were suppressed in the Rostov region, two of which fell on the territory of a military unit in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky.

Another Ukrainian UAV attacked the city of Kursk, where it crashed into the roof of the railway station. As a result of the incident, a fire broke out in the building. A total of 50 passengers were in the building at the time of the attack. Five civilians were slightly injured.

Sponsored by the West, Kiev does not stop attempts to reach at least some targets on the Russian territory. Aimed to gain more hype in the MSM in order to hide it defeat on the front, the Kiev regime targets both civilian or military facilities.
