Moscow Everyday Life: Harsh Detention Of Son Of Oligarch

Support SouthFront

Russian law enforcements seem to be changing their attitude towards representatives of the so-called ‘new aristocracy’. Just a few years ago, it was hard to imagine this kind of detention of a son of Russian oligarch.

A 25-yo son of MTS Russia Vice President, Ruslan Ibrahimov, was detained in Moscow on October 3, REN TV reports. According to reports, he tried to escape from police in a car from for several hours. However, the car was blocked and he was detained. Attempting to escape from police officer, the man created multiple dangerous situations on the road. The man was reportedly under the influence of narcotic drugs. Additionally, police seized drugs and a pistol in the detained car.

For a state like the US, the use of force by police is not big news. However, in Russia, where security forces employ weapons only in extraordinary situations, this kind of detention is not something common.

Ruslan Ibragimov is President of MTS Russia for public and government relations. Prior to his appointment to this position, he was a vice president for corporate and legal issues. Ibrahimov is an ordinary example of Russian oligarchs and government officials that like to describe themselves as the ‘new aristocracy’. In general, such persons do not link their future with the nation, treating the Russian territory as a source of resources only.

The oligarchs, Russian and otherwise, are failing to realise that they are despised all over the globe.

Not so much for what the have, but for the sense of entitlement they have to be ‘pig ignorant’ to ordinary people.

Their time of plenty is at great risk now.

As a police officer you get pessed when someone jeopardize other people lives and your own during several hours. So the adrenalin is boiling.
