Representatives of Russia and Ukraine signed a protocol on gas transit and claims settlement following the results of gas negotiations in Minsk on December 20. The decision of Russia to continue the gas transit through and pay money to the openly hostile country, which since 2014 has become an apparent neo-colony of the US and the Euro-Atlatntic bureaucracy, raised significant questions.
Additionally to this, it appears that the new agreement will allow Russia’s Gazprom and Ukraine’s Naftogaz to hide real gas transit tariffs from the public.
In the process of transit of Russian gas to Europe since 2020, “Gas Transition System of Ukraine”, an independent operator created by Ukraine’s Naftogaz, will participate in the agreements as a contractor to Naftogaz only. It will have own gas transportation tariffs for Naftogaz. Therefore, the state-owned Naftogaz itself becomes an intermediate link in the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine.
As to the agreement between Gazprom and Naftogaz, they will have own agreement on gas transporation. So, the tariffs in the framework of this agreement could be described as a company secret. Such a move removes transparency in the reached deals and creates conditions for various corruption activities.
I think I prefer the explanation over on Stalker Zone. The above appears to be a click-bait article, with zero information.
