On December 20, multiple rockets were launched by unknown gunmen at the Green Zone area in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad. The fortified area hosts the US embassy and Iraqi government buildings. US forces deployed in the area activated their C-RAM (Counter rocket, artillery, and mortar) systems to intercept the rockets. Nonetheless, at least a part of them fell in the area.

Baghdad is a sprawling city and these truck mounted artillery pieces can be deployed even 20-30 kms from the Green Zone. India exports 155mm Dhanush artillery pieces and the Iraqi PMU are the military anyway and can get their hands on anything.
