At least 11 Syrian soldiers died and 3 others were injured in an attack by ISIS cells on the Homs-Raqqa highway on June 20. The attack that targeted a small convoy of civilian and military vehicles also led to the death of two civilians.
Early reports claimed that the attack was carried out with IEDs. Later, ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack through its Amaq news agency saying that it was a raid.
