Late on July 15, two mysterious airstrikes hit the Turkish-occupied city of al-Bab in the northern countryside of Syria’s Aleppo.
The airstrikes reportedly were carried out in the vicinity of al-Eman mosque and the al-Jahjah roundabout in the city center. The exact nature of the targets remains unclear. Eleven people, including a number of civilians, were wounded as a result of the airstrikes.
Opposition sources said the airstrikes had been carried out by warplanes of the Russian Aerospace Forces. However, there is no clear evidence to support these claims.
Russian and Syrian warplanes have targeted Turkish-backed militants in al-Bab before, namely on February 2. That time the airstrikes were a response to an attack on nearby government-held areas. There has been no such attack in the past few days.
The Turkish military and its proxies occupied al-Bab after a long battle with ISIS. Turkish forces sustained heavy losses, more than 50 Turkish service members were killed.
The motives for the recent mysterious airstrikes on al-Baba are unclear. The upcoming few days could reveal more information on the incident, especially on the nature of the targets.
One should add that the Turks only took Al-Bab after they pay ISIS off massively. ;) Yeah Mustafa Mehmet. Your former proud kemalist, and now pathetic islamist army.
How do you know, do you have access on their accounts?
