A series of mysterious strikes wiped out on December 28 a prison run by militants in the Turkish-occupied part of the northern Aleppo countryside.
Several explosions have reportedly leveled the prison, known as al-Ma’srah, which was located in the town of Sajjo on the border with Turkey.
The notorious prison was reportedly being run by the Turkish-backed al-Shamiya Front. ISIS members as well as few civilians were being held in the prison, which recently became infamous for torture practices.
Several sources confirmed that the explosions killed or injured several people who were inside the prison, including at least eight captives.
In a report, the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) claimed that unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), likely of the U.S.-led coalition, were behind the strikes on the prison. This claim makes no sense as the prison is being run by a U.S. ally, Turkey.
Some local sources said that foreign warplanes carried out the strikes, others claimed that the explosion was caused by a booby-trapped car that was being prepared inside the prison by Turkish-backed militants.
Last month, a series of strikes targeted makeshift oil refineries run by smugglers in the northern Aleppo countryside. Back then, Damascus claimed responsibility for the strikes, thus stating that Turkish-occupied areas are no longer off its targets list.

Often when we captured some VIP in Iraq, the area they where held at, back at camp, was shelled. If we caught the wrong one, no shelling. So being shelled wasn always a bad thing.
