AlMasdarNews reports: The Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) media department has released brand new footage showing the evacuation of families living in ISIS-held districts of Manbij city.
In the footage, a fighter of the SDF is seen driving an armored truck towards the scene and moments later freeing about 40 civilians, sending them running into SDF safe zones.
The Kurdish-speaking camera man can even be heard saying: “halt the shooting, those are civilians”. Around 15,000 non-combatants live in ISIS controlled Manbij suburbs.
A recent similar case revealed that three alleged ISIS fighters had covered themselves up in women’s clothing as a desperate attempt to escape certain death in the besieged city.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that the SDF may be turning to diplomacy, offering ISIS fighters an opportunity to leave unhurt if they are to surrender control of Manbij city.
