The National Aeronautics and Space Administration of the United States (NASA) has published a satellite imagery showing the blackout in Ukraine.
The photos were taken on December 17, the day after the Russian strikes on energy facilities in Ukraine.
On December 16, the Russian military attacked the military control systems, the defense industry and the facilities of the energy system of Ukraine that support them. The Russian Defense Ministry reported on the attack the next day, noting that all targets were hit.
However, the timeline on the NASA website confirms that the Ukrainian services fail to repare the damaged facilities on time and almost the entire country plunges in darkness every night. Despite the fact that Russian forces do not hit Ukrainian infrastructure on a daily basis and the recent attacks did not target the strategic facilities but those that support the operation of the Ukrainian military. In fact, the Kiev regime has been given time to restore power supply to the largest cities and provide the civilian population with heat, since winter weather has come to Ukraine.
On December 19, the Ukrainian energy company “Ukrenergo” called the situation in the energy system of Ukraine “difficult”.
According to Ukrenergo, the most difficult situation with energy supply remains in the Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporozhye, Kirovograd, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kiev regions and the city of Kiev. Emergency shutdown schedules have been introduced there.
On December 17, Ukrenergo reported a significant deficit in the country’s energy system. The company noted that the situation is also complicated by bad weather.

In Romania electric energy are enormous price comparative with population income and towns budget. So, in almost all Romania except Bucharest, the light on streets are turned off at 23.00 and back on at 06.00. These prices are from 5 years ago, when the energy grid was privatized.

No, that’s not everywhere. For example, in almost all my neighboring cities and towns there is plenty of electricity, clear waste on millions of Christmas decorations all over the places from 17PM to 7AM; in my oblast, off course.
