A poll in 53 countries by the NATO-affiliated “Alliance of Democracies” found that 83% of Chinese think that China is a “democracy.” That’s the highest percentage amongst all of the 53 countries surveyed.
Here are the others in the best 10:
- #2 is Vietnam, at 77%.
- Tied for #s 3&4 are Philippines and Taiwan (which latter is included because NATO wants to grab that part of China), at 75% each.
- Tied for #s 5&6 are Norway and Switzerland, at 74% each.
- #7 is Ukraine, at 73%.
- Tied for #s 8&9 are Denmark and India, at 70% each.
- #10 is Sweden, at 69%.
- At the very bottom, last, #53, the worst, is Venezuela, at 24%.
- #52 is Iran, at 25%.
- #51 is Hungary, at 35%.
- #50 is Turkey, at 37%.
- #49 is Nigeria, at 38%.
- Tied for #s 47&48 are Algeria and Morocco, at 42% each.
- #46 is Thailand, at 44%.
- Tied for #s 44&45 are Peru and Russia, at 46% each.
- Tied for #s 42&43 are France and Hong Kong (included because NATO wants to grab that part of China), at 47% each.
- The average for all countries was 56%.
U.S. was worse than average, and was tied at #s 40&41, out of the 53 nations, with Colombia, at 49%. Less than half its citizens think that they live in a democracy. By contrast, 83% of Chinese think that they live in a democracy. Whereas NATO, America’s military alliance against Russia, is considering to add to its target-list (of nations to defeat) China, China ranked #1 for democracy on NATO’s poll of 53 countries, while America ranked #40 or 41 there.
However, since this is a NATO-affiliated poll, its PR doesn’t focus on those findings. Instead, one of its plugs comes from the former NATO chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen, whose firm did the poll. It’s headlined “The EU is viewed positively by countries all around the world — except Russia and China.” NATO (America’s military alliance against Russia) liked that finding.
The other plug is headlined “Largest global democracy study finds more in favour of cutting ties with Russia than against.” NATO also liked that finding. Their poll (also favorably viewed by NATO on this matter) additionally reports that “The global perception of the US’s influence on democracy is generally more positive than negative. (+15)”
One can debate how accurate the perceptions are within any nation regarding whether or not it is a democracy, but these are the ratings that the residents give. Within a given nation, the rating might be largely due to misrepresentation in its press. However, also the views about that country which are held by people who don’t live in that country might be due to misrepresentations in that given foreign nation’s press. (This can be expected to be especially true in NATO countries regarding their public’s views toward countries that NATO wants to conquer.) In any case, the views that the residents hold on this matter should generally be assumed to be better informed about whether the given nation is democratic than the views of foreigners (especially in that country’s enemy countries) are, since foreigners don’t know the country as well (and since the people living in an enemy country have been heavily propagandized against the given target-country).

The embassies in Armenia, Ghana, Iran, Indonesia, Kuwait, Nigeria, and Zimbabwe had their accounts “suspended” on August 18, the Serbian foreign ministry said on Monday for posting pro-Russia comments. The same happened to the consulate in Chicago, in the US state of Illinois. The suspensions happened “without any explanation or prior notice of a possible violation of the social network’s rules.”
Entire notion of democracy is a joke. Democracy is a thin veil on ruling oligarchy that present them in the best of light. Serbia is also ruled by an oligarchy that comes from intelligence, politics and banking cabal. None of above mentioned countries is “democratic” – Iran is ruled by theocracy, Zimbabwe – oh, Zimbabwe, ruled by late Mugabe’s clique who was bloody dictator and let’s not forget – a Marxist, then Armenia with NATO installed Pashinyan etc.
Let’s not forget Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Democracy right. But it was designed that way and North Korean “democracy” is the true vision of those who established notion of “democracy” – and it wasn’t ancient Greeks.

If the term means doing the will of the people, then China is a much more functional democracy than America is. America is run by corporate oligarchs, and only the will of the ultra rich is done. It was all proven in a paper by Paige and Gilens.

I would not go so far to claim that China is “functional democracy” whatever that expression means, or that is democracy at all. It may mean that US is disfunctional democracy but still a democracy. In China, only the will of ultra powerful military and political figures is done. And they do it mostly in secret just like in USA. China is ruled by communist oligarchy. If you think otherwise I suggest you go to Tienanmen and shout “fuck Communist party”. In “democracy” you should be able to freely express your standing on any matter without fear of fine or imprisonment. You can’t in China. So, forget “functional democracy”.
