In Rio de Janeiro, Starting March 02, through April 11, 2016, the Navy of Brazil (MB) held a Set of Special Operations Training with the US Navy team participation (US Navy SEAL) and federal agencies of public safety. On 29 March, there will be press coverage.
The operation consists of three stages: preparation, training, and counterterrorism exercises. The training will be held in the Grouping Headquarters Divers Combat (GRUMEC) located in Mocanguê Island, Niterói city; the Civil Police of the Rio de Janeiro State, in the Jacaré community; and the sea area located inside the Guanabara Bay.
The phases of training and exercises take place from March 7 to April 11, when they will be executed many Special Operations Exercises Counterterrorism, as fighting in confined environment and approaches in boats.
The operation contributes to update procedures and the exchange of experiences between the teams, in order to prepare for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Participate in this military exercise GRUMEC, the COMANF and agents of the Tactical Operations Command of the Federal Police Department.
Brazil remains today, and will be safe from the terrorist threat during the Olympics. This is the opinion of Strategic Affairs Analyst, André Luís Woloszyn. The retired Military Brigade Colonel is one of the greatest Brazilian specialists in counter-terrorism. Woloszyn warns: “Brazil sells weapons.
