On December 27, the Abkhazian Network News Agency (ANNA) released a video documenting the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) recent advance in the southeastern Idlib countryside.
Over the last two weeks, army units captured around 350 km2 of the region, including more than 40 towns and villages, following heavy clashes with al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies.
ANNA’s video shows dozens of Russian and Syrian airstrikes targeting militants’ battle tanks, armored vehicles, rocket launchers and positions in southeast Idlib.
The video also shows some of the weapons captured by the SAA, including an armored vehicle and a Turkish-made HY 12 120 mm mortar.
According to a recent report by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), HTS and its allies lost more than 160 militants in the southeastern Idlib countryside over the last two weeks.
Bad weather conditions forced the SAA to halt its advance in southeast Idlib in the last 24 hours. Army units will likely resume operations once the weather improves.
Another great VID from ANNA, they are the best!
