A new batch of militants from the northwestern Daraa countryside is preparing to withdraw towards the opposition-held areas in northern Syria under an agreement with the Damascus government, which was reached last month, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on August 11.

According to the pro-opposition monitoring group, the batch consists of around 2,000 militants and civilians. More than 20 buses will carry the militants and their families to the northern governorate of Idlib in the upcoming hours.

During the preparations for the evacuation, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) arrested 10 ISIS fighters who sneaked into the evacuation buses, according to the Syrian news outlet Enab Baladi. Local sources said that several fighters of the terrorist group are still at large in southern Syria.

More than 9,000 militants and civilians were evacuated from the southern governorates of Daraa and al-Quneitra to northern Syria over the last two months. At the same time, around 3,800 former fighters of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) reconciled with the Damascus government and joined the ranks of the SAA.

Good to hear ! Less problems for southern Syria. More trash bused to their Idlib paradise. :D Note that 3,800 reconciled and joined up to keep the peace. This is a positive sign.

Has the SAA march towards Idlib been postponed?
