The Algerian People’s National Army received its new Russian T-90 3rd-generation battle tanks. It was already the third contract for the supply of about 200 T-90SA tanks signed by the company Rosoboronexport and Algeria.
According to Moscow Defense Brief editor Mikhail Barabanov, the approximate cost of these 200 T-90 tanks is $1 billion. The current contract is one of the largest ones by quantity parameters or maybe even the world’s largest contract for battle tank exports, Mikhail Barabanov said.
The T-90 is a modernized version of the T-72, equipped with a 125 mm 2A46 smoothbore tank gun, thermal sights and a new engine. A blend of steel, composite armour, and Kontakt-5 explosive-reactive armour, laser warning receivers, Nakidka camouflage and the Shtora infrared anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) jamming system are parts of standard protective measures of the tank.
T-90 is not a modernized T-72. It may be based on the T-72 design-wise but it is a tank with entirely different specifics.
the T-90 is a T-72Bu with new name… T-72 BU was a T-72B with the firecontroll of the T-80… the only reason why india run the T-90 because 65% of the parts are the same like they have in the T-72 which they localy build… nice way to reduce spare part costs and long term running costs.. sure the T-90 was further improved after introducing but stoped in 2010 …btw nearly all T-90 in the russian army are upgraded T-72 and no new tanks
Every-time ethnic-Japetic weapons are sold to ethnic-Hamites, the Hamites go around using them against civilians and rival factions. It is not a good idea to arm them, as then they ethnically cleanse the village next door. Far fewer civilians would be massacred in Africa, if they were left with their natural spears. At least then the civilians have a change to run from their governments onslaughts against them.
