New Blast Target Turkish-Backed Militants In Syria’s Afrin (Videos)

On July 19 morning, a heavy improvised explosive device (IED) exploded on Jandaris road in the Turkish-occupied area of Afrin in northern Syria.

The IED targeted a vehicle of the Turkish-Backed Sham Corps. However, the IED’s large explosion effected nearby cars, shops and civilian building. Local sources said thirteen people, including six children, were injured as a result.

Meanwhile, the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights revealed that three of the wounded are fighters of the Sham Corps. One of them is a unit commander.

No group has claimed responsibility for the IED attack, thus far. Kurdish groups, like the Afrin Liberation Forces and the Wrath of Olives Operations Room, are known for carrying out such attacks against Turkish-backed militants.

During the last few weeks, a series of similar IED attacks rocked Afrin. Many Turkish-backed militants and civilians were killed or injured.

The Turkish military and its Syrian proxies have not been taking any serious measures to address this threat. Recently, some suspects were arrested. However, the justice system in Turkish-occupied area is beyond corrupt and un worthy of any trust.
