New Challenges For Syria

Illustrative Image

Written by Damir Nazarov

Despite all the talks that the war in Ukraine has overshadowed the events in the Middle East, a number of facts demonstrate the opposite. The talks about “reconciliation” between Assad and Erdogan clearly did not please Washington, as a result of which the Americans decided to become the first fiddle in the supervision of the “Syrian opposition” again. Moreover, the Americans directly hint that now local Turkomans will not play a dominant role, which means Turkey’s shift to the second or even third role in the Syrian issue.

Another point is related to the contents of the report of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), where the Americans point to the resumption of wars throughout Syria, and local terrorism will acquire a new face called “Tanzim al-Jihad” – an assembly of jihadists from Al-Qaeda (Jabhat Nusra) and takfiri from ISIS. This conclusion of the report reflects the essence of Washington’s foreign policy towards official Damascus. It is not by chance that the Pentagon gained time by not allowing the jihadist camps in Idlib, in the north-east of the SAR to be destroyed, and in addition, the CIA had a hand in preserving the militant potential of various insurgencies in southern Syria (Deraa, Suwayda).

The prerequisites for the emergence of a new Takfiri organization exist and the sleeping cells of the radicals will be waiting in the wings. Given the likely influx of volunteers from Europe via Turkey, as it was earlier, it can be stated that the army of jihadists for Tanzim al-Jihad is already ready.

So, the imperialists have regained control over the FSA units, revived jihadists of various stripes and continue to actively support the Kurdish separatists. The scenario of new wars in Syria is ready.

Why are Americans waiting for the moment to unleash a new civil war? Washington intends to disrupt the plans of the Axis of Resistance to eliminate the Zionist occupation. Therefore, the Yankees are trying to prepare the ground for internal conflicts throughout Syria in order to weaken Syria, which is a key part of the Axis, as much as possible. A new campaign by Damascus against the jihadists and the remnants of the FSA will give respite to the Zionists, who are greatly alarmed by the unity of the front and the abundance of revolutionary figures allied to the IRGC in the area between Damascus and the occupied Golan.

In recent years, the SAR has significantly increased its position at the regional level. In addition to the most important achievement in terms of reaching agreements with Hamas on the resumption of relations, Assad demonstrates strength to the American occupiers in the northeast of the country (regular attacks on the positions of NATO bases) and challenges the King of Jordan in the direction of the West Bank of Jordan (support for the Palestinian resistance).

Specifically, the Zionists and their American friends are frightened not only by the presence of Iraqi Islamic Resistance groups next to “Israel”, the prospect of creating a Palestinian army in Syria under the auspices of Hamas terrifies even the closest allies of Zionism in the person of the King of Jordan and the Egyptian junta. For the autocracy, the presence of an influential Palestinian force on the borders is scarier than the most terrible dream, since at any moment the Palestinians of Jordan can follow the leading Islamic party of Palestine and demolish the Hashemite kingdom. For Cairo, the reason for concern arises because of the likely export of Hamas’ success to the ranks of one or more factions of the local Muslim Brotherhood, which still have good ties with Hamas.

An analysis of the situation shows that inside Syria, with the assistance of the IRGC and Hezbollah, a “tripartite alliance” has been formed consisting of local resistance forces, Iraqis from Kataeb al-Sabirun and Palestinian factions, where Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad are the main actors. Iranians have repeatedly noted the importance of Syria in terms of the liberation of the holy al-Quds and now we understand the wisdom of the strategists of the Islamic Republic.

Ziological Warefare

The USA is the enemy of peace. We see the pattern repeatedly. They ruin peace talks between Germany and Russia, they ruin peace talks between Turkey and Syria, they ruin peace talks between Ukraine and Russia. Peace and reconciliation is a threat to these brute minded savages who claim they are civilized

Exactly

The Objective

What confuses me is why Assad doesn’t agree to a negotiated settlement with the opposition so that America can be isolated. Is it impossible? Turkey wants the U.S out of Syria, but it doesn’t want to sacrifice the Syrian Sunni population just to gain Assad’s cooperation. I’m sure Erdogan offered Assad a fair proposition, but considering the increasingly arrogant Russian attitude which wants to prove to the whole world that Russia will reimpose dictatorship in Syria, I can’t see peace coming to Syria anytime soon.

If Assad refuses to negotiate with the opposition, Turkey should support any future war against Assad. That would be a befitting way to handle the situation. If such a war ever erupts, it’s very likely that the U.S will compromise on the Kurdish issue just to win Turkey’s support. Then both Assad and Russia will lose or at least suffer serious setback.

More than anything else, Syria will be the likely cause of a major fallout between Russia and Turkey. Russia wants Turkey to give up on the Sunni Muslims in Syria. I can’t see this happening as long as the AKP runs Turkey.
