New Footage Shows Work Of Russian Lancet Drone Operators In Special Operation Zone

On March 12, Russia’s Izvestia TV published a video report documenting the work of an unidentified unit armed with Lancet loitering munitions in the special military operation in Ukraine.

The report, which was filmed on an unspecified front, shows the operators preparing then launching the basic version of the Lancet, the Izdeliye-52, within a few minutes. It also includes footage of two recent strikes on a Soviet-made 2S19 Msta self-propelled 152 mm howitzer and an American-made M777 towed 155 mm howitzer of Kiev forces. Both strikes were seen before.

The Lancet loitering munition was developed by the ZALA Aero Group, a subsidiary of Russia’s defense giant Kalashnikov Concern.

The Izdeliye-52 has an endurance of 40 minutes and a three-kilogram warhead, while the larger Izdeliye-51 has an endurance of an hour and is armed with a warhead weighing five kilograms. Both versions are equipped with an electro-optical system with an encrypted two-way data-linek, which allow the operator to detect, track and lock on static and moving targets.

The Russian military has been using the Lancet against high-value equipment of Kiev forces since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine.

According to video evidence, Lancet loitering munitions have so far destroyed or damaged more than a hundred Ukrainian main battle tanks, armored vehicles, howitzers, multiple rocket launchers, air defense systems, radars and small naval vessels.

The small radar cross-section and minimal infrared signature of the Lancet makes it nearly impossible to intercept. On top of that, the loitering munition is easy to operate and cheap to produce.

Simple and cheap solutions like the one with small drones are proving to be much more efficient than a lot of expensive and complex equipment. I can’t wait to see the western tanks burning in the exact same place as the battles of 1943.

I would consider this the best weapon of the war so far.

It’s very effective, and cost effective.

“Geranium” is even cheaper, just 7 or 20 (according different sources) thousand dollars.

That’s why i like SF — all episodes of my favorite “Lancet” series in one place. It’s not a problem to me, but need to mention, all SF videos are not working without VPN. Looks like provider or video host is blocking Russia according their stupid cancel policy. But all their attempt are failed again. May be one happy day “Lancet” or “Caliber” will fall at heads of such blockers.
