The Afrin Liberation Forces (ALF) carried out a new series of attacks against Turkish-backed militants in the occupied area of Afrin and its outskirt in northern Aleppo during the last few days.
On July 4, fighters of the Kurdish guerilla group targeted a vehicle carrying several Turkish-backed militants near the town of Marea, east of Afrin, with an anti-tank guided missile (ATGM). Two militants were killed and four others were injured.

A day later, ALF cells inside Afrin ambushed a unit of Ahrar al-Sham militants on the road linking the towns of Bassouta and Khezavi. A vehicle carrying reinforcements was targeted in the same area with an improvised-explosive device (IED). Four Turkish-backed militants were killed and four others were injured in the ambush.
Earlier this month, at least eight Turkish-backed militants were killed in several attacks by the ALF inside Afrin and in its outskirt.
The Turkish military and its proxies occupied Afrin in a rapid military operation in early 2018. However, they have failed to secure the region, so far.
