On May 31, heavy clashes erupted among Turkish-backed militants in the Euphrates Shield (ES) area in the northern Aleppo countryside.
Step News, a pro-opposition outlet, said that fighters from the al-Ujail tribe attacked the district of al-Tabaleh in the northern town of Azaz and clashed with militants from several Turkish-backed groups, including the Northern Storm Brigade.
Heavy machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades were reportedly used in the clashes, which claimed the lives of three militants. At least seven others were injured.
Local sources said that the arrest of a fighters from al-Ujail provoked the clashes. The fighter was held by the Turkish-backed Police while attempting to smuggle drugs.
“The [al-Ujail] Tribe issued a statement 48 hours ago demanding the Free Police in the city of Azaz to release Walid [the captured fighter],” Step News’ reporter said.
The clashes ended after the intervention of the so-called Military Police and local figures, who pushed both sides to reached an agreement. No one was reportedly arrested.
Such incidences have become a common occurrence in the Turkish-occupied areas in northern Syria. Despite this, the Turkish military has not taken any measures to restore the peace and security. Most likely, Anakra is trying to avoid upsetting the heads of its proxies that are deeply involved in illegal activists.
haha the dumbass Erdogan’s “Euphrates Shield” has as many holes as the Zionist Iron Dud! Also the Turkeys are doing their usual drug trafficking business to support the headchoppers.
And Erdogan wants people like this to be a part of the Syrian government.
