On November 21, the Russian military expanded its control along the Haichur River in Dnepropetrovsk, moving closer to the key city of Huliapole in Zaporozhye.
The Vostok [West] Group of Forces took over Radisne which is located right on the Haichur in Dnepropetrovsk, some 20 kilometers to the north of Huliapole, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The attack on Radisne was led by the 64th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade, which managed to secure an area of up to 30 square kilometers along the Haichur in recent days including not only this settlement, but also nearby Nechaivka and farmlands up to the Danylivka to the north along the Yanchur River.
During the battle in the settlement, Ukraine’s 154th Mechanized Brigade lost up to a company of troops and 12 pieces of military equipment.
Meanwhile in Dnepropetrovsk, the Vostok Group of Forces made some additional gains in the area to the east of Huliapole.
According to preliminary reports, Russian troops stormed Zelenyi Hai, which is located right to the south of Vesele which was captured earlier in the week. The settlement is expected to be fully captured within a few days. Kiev forces are not showing any real resistance.
The Vostok Group of Forces is also said to be close to securing all of Zatyshshya, the last settlement before the eastern outskirts of Huliapole.
Once Zelenyi Hai and Zatyshshya are secured, Kiev forces will have one settlement left under their control to the east of Huliapole, and that is Vysoke. Ukrainian troops there will either flee towards the city while they could, or stay in their positions and surrender.
All in all, the battle in Huliapole will likely begin within a few days. It is unclear yet if Kiev forces are setting up any defenses there.
With the current collapse of Ukrainian defenses in all others directions, from the surroundings of the city of Kupyansk in Kharkiv, to the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk, it is highly unlikely that Ukraine has the resources, especially the manpower, needed to defend Huliapole for long. In fact, the ongoing collapse in Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye will likely continue, and even accelerate, beyond the city.
