Russia’s nuclear-powered and nuclear-armed unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) Poseidon will start factory trials this summer, the state-run news agency TASS reported on February 10 citing a defense industry source.
“The successful tests of Poseidon’s nuclear-powered energy unit opened the way to conducting at-sea factory tests of the vehicle. The tests will begin in favorable weather conditions this summer,” the source told TASS.
The unmanned underwater vehicle with the nuclear power unit was first revealed in President Vladimir Putin’s address to the Federal Assembly in March 2019.
The president said that the UUV will be equipped with both conventional and nuclear payloads and will be able to destroy enemy infrastructural facilities, carrier groups and other targets.
If the U.S. and Britain have spent billions on new carriers to target Russia, they’ve wasted their money. Like China’s DF-26, a cost-effective way of neutralising any carrier threat.
Watch you mouth Joe; once the Peski Ruskies have seen our (UK) aircraft carriers, they will surrender through fear; I know that, because our heroic Gavin Williamson told us.
