On November 13, a Turkish combat drone carried out an airstrike on the northeastern Syrian town of Sanjak Saadoun, which is controlled by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The drone strike targeted an SUV that was parked in a carwash in the town. The North Press Agency, which is affiliated with the SDF, said that three people were wounded as a result of the strike. The news agency didn’t provided any further details.
Other Syrian news sources said that the targeted vehicle belonged to the SDF. The sources alleged that a commander of the group was killed in the drone strike.

Turkish combat drones have been very active over the SDF’s areas of influence in Syria’s northern and northeastern regions.
Last week, specifically on November 6, two Turkish drone strikes targeted the SDF-held part of the al-Qamishli town, which is located some 24 kilometers to the east of Sanjak Saadoun in the northern countryside of al-Hasakah. The strikes claimed the lives of an SDF commander and his driver and wounded three civilians.
Turkey has been threatening the SDF with a new operation since May. The Turkish military and its proxies completed their preparations back in July. However, Ankara is yet to pull the trigger. Faced with pressure from Russia, Iran and even the United States, Ankara is now trying to deter the group with air power.
