On January 4, the Abkhazian Network News Agency (ANNA) released a new video documenting the militants’ heavy losses in their recent failed attack in southeastern Idlib.
The video shows four up-armored pick-up trucks, an up-armored van and an ATV, which were destroyed by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) near al-Tah. The town was the main target of the militants’ attack that took place two days ago.
A T-62 tank that was converted into an armored personnel carrier (APC) by the militants can be also seen after being captured by the SAA.

The dead bodies of several militants, including foreigners, can be spotted in the video. A total of ten militants were killed in the failed attack, according to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), the former branch of al-Qaeda in Syria, led the attack. Several units of al-Qaeda-affiliated groups and Turkish-backed factions participated.
The militants didn’t only fail to recapture al-Tah, but also to deter the SAA, which resumed its strikes on southeastern Idlib earlier today. Soon the army is expected to advance towards the city of Ma`arat al-Nu`man.
