Warplanes of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) have carried out a second wave of airstrikes on the northwestern Syrian region of Greater Idlib.
The airstrikes, which took place on September 9 noon, targeted positions in the western outskirt of the city of Idlib. The city is a stronghold of al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham. The group occupies a large part of Greater Idlib.

Earlier in the morning, VKS warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes on the remaining militants’ positions in northern Lattakia.
The Russian airstrikes led to a state of panic among militants in Greater Idlib, who carried out series of attacks against Syrian government forces in the past few weeks.
Greater Idlib ceasefire, which was implemented on March 5, appears to be on the brink of complete collapse. Turkey, which maintains thousands of troops in the region, is still supporting a large part of the militants.
The recent Russian airstrikes may be a sign of a near ground operation in Greater Idlib by the Syrian Arab Army and its allies.
Good job. Vengeance is a dish best served cold.
Use tehrmobaric bombs!!! Burn those motherfucking rats inside their holes !!!
Bombing is all very well but it needs to be followed up by a massive ground attack.
It’s coming, no doubt.
These was tactically important ammunition depots in Idlib outskirt. Of more importance is those attacks in Latakia.
This was a big surprise for Wahhabis. Bigger one is just to come.
“Greater Idlib ceasefire, which was implemented on March 5, appears to be on the brink of complete collapse”
Is that why the Russians and Turks have increased joint patrols and initiated live fire drills, mmmm. And the brink of collapse they say, does that mean they won’t be able to implement resolution 2254 afterall, probably not, but at least it’s getting harder to do it in the timeframe they want. :]
Chechens were probably the group the Russians attacked in Latakia, I’m pretty sure that’s where they’re operating, but the Uighurs are right next door in Hama so it might have been them too, since they’re actually neighbours. And some opposition sights claim the Russians used vacuum bombs to attack Idlib, if true it means the Russians are dead serious, the last time they used a thermobaric bomb they killed 200+ terrorists in one hit just as they were escaping from Aleppo, or I should say trying to escape.
