On the afternoon of April 29, Russian forces launched new wave of precision strikes that targeted Ukrainian rear military facilities. Sirens sounded in all western, central and southern regions of Ukraine.
Ukrainian monitoring sources reported Russian strikes in the Kharkiv, Odessa, Sumy, Dnepropetrovsk regions.
According to preliminary reports, the facilities used for the deployment of military personnel were targeted in Sumy. A fire reportedly broke out at some industrial facility in the town of Shostka in the Sumy region.
A large fire was reported at an industrial entreprise in the city of Krivyi Rih in the Dnepropetrovsk region. The local authorities deny that the fire was caused by Russian strikes. As a result, there are rumors about the attack of some pro-Russian saboteurs in the city.
Another large fire was filmed in the city of Odessa. It heavily damaged the local “castle”, which is the building of the Odessa Law Academy. According to preliminary reports, the building was damaged by wreckage of Russian missile or drone intercepted by Ukrainian air defense over the residential building. The cafe located nearby was also reportedly damaged. It should not be excluded that the luxury building could be used by the Ukrainian military command.
The infamous Odessa Law Academy is known to be highly corrupt. The building of the educational institution confirms this. Last year, the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Zaluzhny, defended his thesis there.

i really wonder if there is so much different in this war or if some of the missliles that hit civilian targets in past wars should be attributed in stupid use of air defence inside or to near to your city as well. well it seems that russia has given up on takin odessa intact.
seems to me that short of embedding units inside and forcing the defenders out in one surprise motion it’s practically impossible to take a city intact. it’s simply foolish to elect not to defend a city, that said, i like to think most armies have the decency to evacuate the population before fortifying every building they can so it doesn’t matter when they hide air defence inside the city.
ukraine use human shields everywhere. specially in the mariupol civil shields was normal way to go….
that’s kind of the point i was making with the relevant part of my comment, i don’t believe anyone with any accurate knowledge of this conflict would use decent to describe the ukrainian armed forces unless they’re lying for some kind of personal gain.
that is only realism. i don’t think they even try to take it. on the other hand, odessa is a key point of usv attacks to crimea. if russia could take the sea line, it would be devastating effect to ukraine. but defending that sealine would be very costly even to russia.

for my relief it’s not historical building, but newly built. the building was hit by local anti-air defense. not the first time. that day aad of occupied odessa killed 5 people and 1 dog.
